Om man vill bidra till julbordet med något som faktiskt inte går att äta eller dricka, kan jag tipsa om lingonglasen från Sagaform. När jag ritade det här mönstret ville jag göra en dekor som kändes julig utan att använda de klassiska symbolerna (hjärta, stjärna, tomte). Lingon kändes som ett givet motiv: här hemma representerar de ursvensk jultradition medan de ute i världen upplevs som smått exotiska på ett skandinaviskt sätt.
If you want to contribute something to the Christmas party that doesn't involve food preparation, I would suggest some lingonberry patterned glasses from Sagaform. When I drew the pattern, I wanted a design that felt Christmasy without using the standard symbols and images that you associate with the season (Christmas trees, stars, elves). The lingonberry felt like an obvious motive to use. Here in Sweden it represents a long-held Christmas tradition while abroad it denotes a more exotic Scandinavian flare.
Another advantage with the lingonberry glasses is that you needn't put them away after the season is over but instead think of using them year round and bringing a little Nordic forest to your dinnertable.
En fördel med lingonglasen är att man inte behöver stuva undan dem efter tjugondag Knut. När julen är över kan man i stället tänka att man fått med sig en bit skog hem på middagsbordet.
